To compare PVC ceiling panel prices per square meter, divide the quoted piece price by its confirmed cover area. Then compare packing, accessories and delivery costs on the same basis.
A lower price per piece can hide a smaller usable panel. We recommend checking the measurement basis before negotiating the headline price.
Confirm what the quoted unit includes
Ask whether the quotation uses pieces, linear meters, square meters or cartons. Record the currency, finish, thickness, cut length and quantity beside each price.
Our SC-2502 ceiling profile has a listed width of 250 mm. That listing alone does not confirm its effective cover width or your required cut length.
| Quoted unit | Information you need | Conversion to price per m² |
|---|---|---|
| Piece | Effective width and cut length, both in meters | Piece price ÷ width ÷ length |
| Linear meter | Effective cover width in meters | Linear-meter price ÷ width |
| Carton | Pieces per carton and effective area per piece | Carton price ÷ pieces ÷ area |
| Square meter | Supplier's area calculation and inclusions | Confirm the basis before comparing |

Use effective cover width in your calculation
An edge profile can make overall width different from installed cover width. Ask for a section drawing showing both measurements and the joint engagement.
Calculation example only: assume a panel covers 0.25 m and has a cut length of 3 m. Its cover area before cutting is 0.75 m².
Assume the hypothetical price is USD 3 per piece. Dividing USD 3 by 0.75 m² gives USD 4 per m².
| Example input | Hypothetical value |
|---|---|
| Effective cover width | 0.25 m |
| Cut length | 3 m |
| Cover area before cutting | 0.75 m² per piece |
| Piece price | USD 3 |
| Equivalent material price | USD 4 per m² |
These figures illustrate the calculation and are not a product specification or current quotation. A different confirmed width or length changes the result.

Turn room dimensions into an order quantity
Area division alone can miss unusable offcuts, panel direction and joint locations. Draw the ceiling layout using available lengths before choosing an order quantity.
For illustration, a simple 4 m by 3 m ceiling uses sixteen strips with 0.25 m effective width. Each strip spans the 3 m direction without an intermediate joint in this simplified layout.
This example excludes perimeter allowances, cutting losses, spare panels and site constraints. Ask your installer to confirm those items against the actual fixing instructions.
We recommend listing spare panels separately from calculated installation quantities. This makes the allowance visible when you compare bids or revise room dimensions.
Compare the complete purchase cost
Keep the panel price separate from trims, support components and site installation. An apparently cheaper quotation can omit items your installer still needs.
| Cost line | Question for your supplier |
|---|---|
| Panels and finish | Is the same profile, finish and thickness being quoted? |
| Trims and accessories | Which items and quantities are included? |
| Export packing | What protection and labeling does the price cover? |
| Inspection | What scope and charges have been agreed? |
| Delivery | What named location and trade term apply? |
| Destination costs | Which clearance, tax and local delivery charges remain? |
Use the same currency, delivery location and quotation date when comparing offers. Ask your freight agent to identify charges outside each supplier's scope.

Send a quote request that reduces clarification
Start with a model from our PVC panel catalog. Use the import specification checklist to capture missing technical details.
- Model code, finish reference and approved sample status.
- Overall width, effective cover width, thickness and cut length.
- Quantity by piece and calculated area, with spares identified.
- Required trims, fixing guidance and applicable project documents.
- Carton requirements, destination and requested delivery date.
Send these details through our project inquiry form. We can review the request and seek confirmation of current commercial terms.
Questions buyers ask
Is a 250 mm panel always 250 mm of installed coverage?
No, the listed width may describe the overall profile. Confirm useful cover width from the drawing and an assembled sample.
Is the lowest price per m² always the best offer?
No, the specification, packing and included components must also match. Compare the total agreed scope before choosing your supplier.
Can I use carton quantity as the minimum order?
No, carton packing and minimum order quantity describe different things. Confirm MOQ separately for each finish, length and packaging option.
